Effective July 1st, The Arts Partnership and Marathon Center for the Performing Arts have merged into one organization.

Marathon Center for the Performing Arts (MCPA), one of Northwest Ohio’s premier destinations for diverse arts programming and entertainment, opened in December 2015 as the culmination of a community-wide campaign to establish a performing arts center in the city of Findlay. The Arts Partnership (TAP), which has worked closely with MCPA since it first opened, was founded in 1979 as the Findlay Area Arts Council with the vision to encourage and stimulate the practice and appreciation of the arts locally and statewide.

Common mission

TAP and MCPA share a common mission: to bring quality arts programs to the adults and children of Hancock County. This long-anticipated consolidation of resources allows the organizations to work together toward achieving this shared vision. The single, joined organization will operate under the name Marathon Center for the Performing Arts.

Opportunities, celebrations continue

TAP and MCPA assure the community that several things are not changing: All arts education opportunities—including Youtheatre, summer camps and school day performances—will continue to be offered. This summer’s community-wide celebrations that Findlay residents have come to know and love—including Boogie on Main, Winefest, Feast on the Street and the Courtyard Concerts—will continue. A wide-ranging array of national touring performances will continue to be presented in the Donnell Theater, along with an eclectic Live @ Armes series and shows by community organizations, the school district, the University of Findlay and others.

The board of directors and employees of both MCPA and TAP hope that the rest of the community will share in their excitement for the future of arts and educational programming in Findlay. Questions regarding the merger are welcome and can be directed to leadership at either organization.
