The Women’s Resource Center of Hancock County recently moved its location, but its mission remains the same, promoting positive choices related to sexuality and pregnancy.
Previously located at 1119 North Main St., the organization is now a few doors down at 1011 North Main St. They relocated thanks to the University of Findlay’s expansion, and last summer moved into a new building.
“It’s not much bigger but the layout is much different and everything is new,” says executive director Laurie Turnow. “It allows us to honor confidentiality a little bit better. The waiting room is set up differently and you can enter through the back. It’s just a lovely, welcoming environment.”
The Center, a privately funded, faith-based group, assists 1,000 clients per year. Those visits include seeking information on pregnancy, abortion alternatives and related counseling and referral services. Most clients are seen on a walk-in basis, but appointments are available. Office hours are 10am to 5pm Monday and Wednesday and 10am to 2pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. For more information call 419-424-9948
