Teachers, educators, librarians and book lovers are invited to attend Mazza Museum’s 2019 Summer Conference, July 15-17. The three-day conference will feature educational and engaging presentations by some of the top illustrators in the picture book industry. According to Kerry Teeple, deputy director of the Mazza Museum, “This year’s lineup includes a wonderful group of illustrators who have a wide variety of styles to offer. Among them are several award winners, including the Caldecott Medal won by Philip and Erin Stead and Matthew Cordell as well as the Coretta Scott King Award, which R. Gregory Christie has won seven times!” Registration is $200 and covers 9 keynote presentations, two breakout sessions, and continental breakfast. Books by featured artists are available for purchase and may be autographed Monday and Tuesday evenings. “We are always amazed to see the process that takes place to create a book,” said Teeple. Registration deadline is July 8. To register, visit www.mazzamuseum.org.
