Celebrate Recovery is an international ministry that helps people overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups that are holding them back in life. Originally designed for alcohol and substance abuse, CR has expanded to a variety of life’s issues. “Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-step program. It follows the 12-step recovery process used by Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, but with a Biblical basis,” explains Hugh McClintock, local leader.
Celebrate Recovery Groups meet at local churches and are open to adults 18 and up. Gateway Church (620 N. Main St.), New Life Assembly of God (3120 Norcrest St.) and Cedar Creek Church (1800 Tiffin Ave.) all offer CR on different nights beginning at 6pm in a safe and confidential place for emotional, mental and spiritual support. Anyone is welcome and childcare options vary by church. “For someone who is thinking about what to do next, I would ask them to take a chance and come,” McClintock encourages.
