Flashover Indoor Sports & Fun Center offers something for everyone

. November 3, 2015.

Flashover Indoor Sports & Fun Center offers something for everyone—from toddlers to adults. Owners Brent and Cheryl Lauer converted the old train museum at 11600 County Road 99 into a one-of-a-kind complex with playing fields, an arcade, a café and a large meeting space.

The facility has two playing fields that can be used for soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, dodgeball, flag football and other turf sports. Leagues are forming now, though pickup games are also an option on many evenings. Flashover is also home to the Locker Soccer Academy, an innovative program for children ages 2-10 that teaches soccer and life skills. Parents can sign up their children for 8-week sessions.

A variety of games can also be found at Flashover, such as Skeeball, Donkey Kong and Centipede. Players can win tickets that can be redeemed for fun prizes. Guests who work up an appetite can snack at the Firehouse 21 Café, which serves all-beef hot dogs, Bavarian-style hot pretzels, and more.

The facility also boasts a meeting area that can accommodate up to 75 people. The space can be used for birthday parties, graduation, wedding or baby showers, or work meetings. Flashover can coordinate party activities (like dodgeball) or groups can chose to only rent the meeting space.
