Math and reading made fun

. October 18, 2012.

In a show of support, the University of Findlay’s faculty and staff have established the College of Education Clubhouse Endowment Fund to assist students in Findlay City and Hancock County schools.

A free literacy outreach for kids in our community, The Clubhouse is organized by the University of Findlay Reading and Literacy Center. The program’s mission is to furnish struggling readers with a safe, encouraging environment for specific assessment-based intervention and give the students stimulating, engaging and encouraging small-group math instruction. The Clubhouse also provides authentic experiences for the University’s teacher education candidates.

The overall goal of the faculty and staff’s fund drive is to create 125 newly endowed funds for student scholarship, faculty development and program support.  To date, 114 new funds totaling more than $8 million have been created.
