Findlay High School has made the most of some unused space by creating a flexible learning area for students and teachers. Synergy Central, named for a concept in the best selling book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” is wired for sound and includes a whiteboard, many TV screens and tables that can be arranged to facilitate student learning in a variety of room settings. With that flexibility, Synergy Central can be used for a variety of purposes such as offering an open area for specific lessons without having to move around desks in the classroom, study halls and tutoring sessions. The room was renovated with input from students, teachers, administrators and school librarian, Amanda Brasfield. As educational techniques evolve, spaces similar to Synergy Central are becoming more common in schools around the country.
