Local men and boys will brave the pain of stilettos for a distance of 5,280 feet on Saturday, April 30.  For the third year in a row, area males will strut their stuff in red high heels, participating in the “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event to benefit Open Arms Domestic Violence Shelter

Individuals and teams are encouraged to register for the “Walk” which will begin and end in Findlay’s Riverside Park.  Findlay Mayor Pete Sehnert will don heels and accompany the group as it winds its way through the Park and over the finish line.  Registration begins at 10:30am with Opening
Ceremonies at 11:30am.  The Walk itself will begin at 12:15pm. followed by a reception and awards ceremony at 1pm.

As if hundreds of men in red high heels weren’t enough, the “Walk a Mile” event will also feature food vendors, prizes, and a kids’ area with a bounce house and games.  Open Arms is looking for additional volunteers for the event and volunteer training has been scheduled for Friday, April 29, 6pm at Riverside Park.
