Experience the tastes, sights and sounds of a typical Christmas Day in the late 1800s during the 22nd Year Celebration of the Victorian Christmas Dinner.
This year’s event, sponsored by The Hancock Historical Museum, will be held at 6:30 pm on Dec. 11 and 12 at The McConnell-Butler House (formerly known as The Swan House), 225 W. Sandusky St, Findlay. Guests will be treated to a four-course Victorian meal, entertainment, education, and may find themselves in stitches throughout the evening. Victorian-era clothing is encouraged, but not mandatory.
The celebration is put together by volunteers, who research true Victorian-era traditions. Funds raised support Historical Museum programs. The dinner is held in a different Victorian home each year, selected by the Victorian Christmas Dinner Committee. Those interested in offering their Victorian-era home that could accommodate about 50 people per night for a future dinner can call Barbara Meyers at 419-423-2254.
